Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

My final divorce decree shows my middle and last name. They left off my legal first name. I have to now file with the circuit court some type of form that states that the name on my birth certificate is one and the same as what is on my final divorce decree. How would I go about doing this? The circuit court in the county where my divorce was final says they have never heard of such a thing.

You need to file a motion with the court that issued the decree asking it to amend the decree to state your legal name. The decree should have tracked the name on the original complaint and all subsequent pleadings. If it didn't, this was probably some typographical error by whomever prepared the decree.
