Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

My husband has been in the military for 16 years. I am thinking of filing for divorce due to an unhealthy relationship. I have not worked at all because he did not want me too. I am scared I will not be able to support myself and 3 children. I know I will be able to get child support and possibly alimony, but will I still be entitled to health insurance for 16 almost 17 years of marriage?

Thanks.

In civilian settings, you would be entitled to buy COBRA coverage for 18 months after divorce. You should check with your military benefits office to determine your eligibility for post-divorce coverage. Your children will remain covered.
