Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

The mother of my unborn child has broken off all communication with me. I don't know the exact due date or even which hospital she plans to go to to deliver. How can I make sure my name gets on the birth certificate?

You probably won't be able to do this without a court order. To do that, you would have to go to the circuit court in the county where she lives and file a petition to establish your paternity (fatherhood) of the child. If she disputes it, dna tests can be conducted. You can ask the court to order visitation, and you will probably have to begin paying child support.
