Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

Exposed to mold in an Apartment

We rented an apartment from 10/03-10/04. To make a long story short we found mold in various soft spots in the flooring. I have been treated for brochial issues since 12/03 and recently found out I am highly allergic to mold found in decaying wood (this was the only allergy that showed up after extensive testing). A health department did come take a look at things but some repairs had already been made by that time. We no longer live there and the complex was told they could not rent out the home until the issues had been fixed. Is there any recourse I can take? I have spent hundreds of dollars on doctor visits with my PC doctor and various specialists, not to mention tests, xrays, and medication. I don't want this to happen to other and I have been told should fully recover in the next 3-5 years. I am a type 1 diabetic and I am fairly young. Is there anything we can do?

Exposure to mold is a matter that can lead to recovery. This is a complex issue and the assistance of an attorney is necessary. You can recovery for medical bills and other special damages (i.e., monetary losses) as well as for other categories of damage (such as pain and suffering).

Contact an attorney immediately since the running of the statute of limitations will preclude any recovery. (410) 750-2567
