Legal Question in Employment Law in Maryland

Labor

I recently quit a job. At the time that i notified the manager on duty that i quit and i wanted to go she told me that the doors were locked and that the building alarm was active so i could not leave. So i worked out the night until 6:30am when the alarm was deactivated and the building unlocked. Was this legal.

Re: Labor

There may be, among other things, a false imprisonment claim. There may also be fire code issues regarding locking doors. However, more information is needed.

I practice in Maryland and would be happy to discuss the matter further.
