Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

Finding a MD lawyer who also practices in the State of LA

I need to file a personal injury case in the state of LA. I reside in MD. The injury was caused by negliance of a LA car dealership repair department's failure to properly fix a popping sliding door lock on a mercury villager van. The slider door opened and my hand was crushed in it.

You may not have to file in LA -- You may in fact be able to file in Federal Court here in Maryland. The matter may eventually moved to a federal court in LA, but then again it might now. And, if it were moved to LA your attorney here in MD would simply obtain local counsel in LA to assist with the case.

As a practical matter, since LA is a so-called "civil law state" as opposed to a "common law" state, there are relatively few practitioners who will be licenced in both MD and LA.

My firm handles this type of litigation in federal court and in courts around the country. I would be happy to chat with you to see if we can be of assistance.

This website has a "find attorneys" option which you can use to locate an attorney in the area where this dealership is located. There are numberous other such sites, such as lawyers.com, which is the site of Martindale-Hubbell, the leading attorney directory in the country. Or you can use one of the many generic search engines, such as google, that will link you up with an attorney site.
