If the owner won't give you a little more time, you can show up on your court date and ask for a postponement. You should explain the situation to the judge and tell him/her that you assumed the person you rented from had the authority to rent the property. Even if the judge enters a judgment for possession on the 29th, there will be a period of time after that before a court order for restitution (eviction) is issued, following which the owner has to schedule an eviction with the sheriff's dept and line up an eviction service, so you might have several weeks before you'd be forced out.
