Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

Hi,

Hope you can advice me what I can do with this problem I am having with a dealership.

In August of 2014 I bought a used car from this dealership. The car had issues and even after they had it checked at the service department the problem still continued. It wasnt even two weeks into the purchase that I decides to change that car for a new car instead.

Everything went well with the transaction. A couple of days after, while on my way to work. I got stopped by an office of the law which issue me a citation because the registration did not match the temporary tags.

I told the office I was not aware of the problem I only had the papers the dealership gave me. He advised me to go to the dealership and fix the problem. I went to the dealership they gave me the corrected papers and asked them to pay the ticket because it was there error. They refused. I went ahead and paid for it.

Now it is showing on my driving record as a violation. I just discovered it because I switched insurance company. I went again to the dealership to please write me a letter saying that indeed it was their fault. I want to show it to a judge so the it is removed from my record. The dealership refuses to help me. They say that there records do not show anything wrong. Well of course not the correction was made back then.

Please advice!!!!

You should not have paid the citation, because doing so is an admission of guilt. Instead, you should have requested a trial date and presented the evidence that you did not break the law.
