A court appointed guardian has legally authority over either the person and/or the person's property. It isn't clear from the question whether the guardian has done anything wrong or whether family simply wants to have someone else in this role.

If the court has appointed a guardian and the guardian seems to be doing wrong, say using money for themselves (instead of for the person they are serving as guardian), this can be challenged in court by a petition to remove the guardian.

This general information doesn't take the place of getting specific legal advice to address your particular situation.
