When a trust is left to multiple individuals and one of them cannot be located, how long must that person be searched for before their share is divided between the other recipients?

Generally they will need to be located. Although it may be challenging to track someone down it is a very rare case where a beneficiary cannot be located with effort and use of databases available to attorneys/investigators/skip tracers. If someone truly vanished without a trace then it would be necessary to petition the court to either turn the funds over to the court or get some ruling on the matter.
