Legal Question in Disability Law in Massachusetts

Reasonable Accomodation

I requested a reasonable accomodation from my employer (change in work schedule by 1 hour). They never responded to it, then disciplined me for being late. I supplied a letter from my doctor to support the request. Now, they have made issues regarding my "performance" and have suspended me for 10 days w/o pay. They still refuse to accomodate my schedule, claiming my diabetes "does not effect my ability to work my schedule", despite 2 doctors opinions. I believe they are going to terminate me. Is this discrimination? Who do I contact?

Re: Reasonable Accommodation

A lawyer ASAP. So many people with diabetes work full time, it is difficult to imagine what your excuse is for not being able to work full time. Only after seeing your two doctors' opinions would a discrimination attorney be able

to make a recommendation. You have 180 days to file at MCAD/EEOC. It's a complicated area of law. Don't go it alone.
