Re: unused vacation time

Vacation time is considered "wages" under Massachusetts's Wage Law, G.L. Chapter 149 Section 148.

If you were given some clear written vacation policy or similar employment contract at the outset of your employment, then that document will control how your vacation time is to be treated with more specificity (i.e. amount of time, accrual, etc.).

There is no should;

it depends on the company policy, and your contractual relationship with the employer.
