Legal Question in Consumer Law in Massachusetts

Had a roof installed with 25yr warranty. shingles failed 11th year. contractor says they were gaf shingles. filed claim with gaf. they analized my samples i sent them and told me they weren't manufactured by them. what is my recource with the contractor.

Unfortunately, it is possible that unless you retain a lawyer to make the warranty claims, the roofer, manufacturer, retailer, etc. will continue to point fingers at one another, whether or not their positions are valid. The good news, however, is that consumer protection statute likely apply here, under which you could make forceful warranty claims and possibly recover your attorneys' fees, and even double or triple your actual damages. If I were you I would hire an attorney to write and send a strong demand letter insisting the warranties be immediately honored, and reserving all rights to multiple damages and recovery of attorneys' fees.
