Can I withdraw from a contract within 3 days in MA?

After signing a Purchase and Sales agreement for a used car, can the consumer withdraw from the contract within 3 days?

Can the dealer withhold the deposit?

There is no automatic right to cancel a contract in 3 days. You need some specific grounds in order to cancel the contract. There must be some problem with the car and the dealer fails to remedy the problem in the required timeframe. If there is nothing wrong with the vehicle, the dealer probably is within his rights to keep all or some of your deposit as damages.
