When does the clock start on a statute of limitations debt

A claim will 'expire' under the statute of limitations in this particular type of case 6 years after the breach occurs, or generally 6 years after your most recent payment.

I agree with Attorney Vaughn-Martel. The six years starts counting when the debt is accrued, but Massachusetts statute "resets" the clock every time you make a payment on the debt. The creditor or their assignee must file their lawsuit within six years after the date of the debt or the date of the last payment, whichever is last.
