Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts

If a friend owes me money, and I take her to court, is a message(whether text email or Facebook) stating she would pay me back x amount of dollars at certain times considered a contract?

I'm not sure if the statements would qualify as a contract, per se, but they are certainly evidence that an agreement existed between the two of you. If you think they are persuasive, make sure you print them out for your hearing and be prepared to explain how you got them and how you know they are from the other party, etc.
