Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Massachusetts
I went through a surgery when I was a minor, and I turned 18 five months ago, now the collection agency is contacting me that I have to pay this debt. This was in Massachusetts.
Minors were not liable for any contract/debt, and that medical charges such as this would transfer to whomever signed the medical forms.
If I dispute this debt, saying it's not my responsibility since I was a minor at the time of medical treatments, will it work? and will the responbility be transferred to whomever signed the forms? What happens if the hospital doesn't have signed forms?

You may attempt to avoid the contract due to your status as a minor.
Whether you will be successful depends upon a number of factors, and you may want to retain an attorney to represent you in your defense.
Are your parents refusing to pay for your necessary medical expenses? Please feel free to give me a call if you would like to discuss this matter further.
