Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

domestic violence help please

I do not have a criminal record, I have no history of violence. My wife and I want to work issues out between us by attending counseling, parenting classes etc..

We are in regular contact, and she is willing to speak with the DA, to persaude him to motion for dismissal. What are my chances in this. should I seek legal counsel. Also there are some discrepancies in the complaintant form about what happened that night. Does this have any bearing on the case at all.please help

You don't say so but I assume you have been charged with Assault & Battery. My experience with this is that the DA will continue to try to prosecute these cases, despite the victim's desire to drop charges when the defendant comes in without counsel. However, there are things that can be done to acheive what you and your wife desire. I have been very successful in achieving exactly what you are looking for. I suggest that you hire a good criminal defense attorney and follow his/her advice.
