Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

I was adopted as a child in the state of Massachussetts without my biological fathers knowledge(a man who was not my father was listed on my birth certificate and signed me over to be adopted.) As an adult, my biological father wishes to adopt me as his child. Adult adoption is legal, but is it legal if I am already adopted?

To be legally adopted you would need the permission of your adoptive father to allow your biological father. If your adoptive father is not alive then you would have to go to court and get the court to rule to allow it without his consent. Good Luck.

If you are an adult, your biological father can adopt you even though you were previously adopted. Your adopted parents don't get notice. You have to assent and if you are married, your spouse must assent.
