Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

adult LD and child support resposibilities

What are the financial responsibilities of the father of an 18 year old with a learning disability (non verbal learnign disability) who has graduated from high school and is not going on to a 4year college? The divorce agreement stated payment continues until 18yo/HS grad or after full time college.

Re: adult LD and child support resposibilities

Unless the divorce judgment/agreement specifies otherwise, the father may file a complaint for modification requesting his support obligation for that child to cease upon graduation from high school. Good Luck!

Most likely if the child is not going to college full time, you no longer have to pay child support.
