Legal Question in Family Law in Massachusetts

i have lived with someone for the past 7 years. the house belonged to him before i moved in but he put my name on the mortgage after. he later "tricked" me into signing my name off of it. i have two children 6 and 12. the 6 year old is his child. the 12 is not. the 12 year old is disabled. he pays the mortgage but i pay all the utilities, groceries, household needs childrens needs etc. he has been acting strange lately and i am concerned that he is going to kick me out. what are my rights?

Thank you for your question. This is a tough situation, and it is going to be even more difficult because you and the other individual did not write down your agreement or understanding. Whatever it is or was, at least you would have known where you stand. In the eyes of the law, you are most likely going to be considered a tenant. I'm not clear whether the intention was to add your name to the title of the home, a cosigner on the loan, or other. You may want to write down a timeline and history and sit down with an attorney. You may have certain equitable claims over the property, essentially on the basis of "fairness", but those claims are difficult and would be entirely dependent on the specific facts of your situation.
