Property Battle

My boyfriend and Bought a house 5 Years ago together, he refinanced about 3 years ago in his name only (my credit at the time was not great)my neme is still on the deed . We are separating now . Am I entitled to anything with this property

If your name is on title (assuming you own it was joint tenants or tenants in common) then you are generally entitled to 50% of the equity in the property. I would need more information to give you a definitive answer. Please contact my office for a free phone consultation.

If you feel that you are owed a share of the property, there are several options, including a recovery of the funds that you invested in the property. There is also a possibility that you can place yourself on the deed via legal action. Should you have any other questions, please contact me.

Absent a written agreement to the contrary, you are entitled to half the equity in the home. The adjustments will be with respect to repayment of interest, improvements to the home, etc.
