Separation or Divorce

If I leave my home and move to another state to I give up my rights to a divorce settlement?

Your divorce settlement is an order of the court. This is enforceable throughout the U.S.

If you have a divorce settlement entered and approved by the court it is enforceable throughout the USA.

If you are asking if you move out of state before your divorce is final and an agreement is reached, it can have an impact on the settlement but it does not necessarily mean you have abandoned your right to a fair settlement. I would contact an attorney immediately if you have not already.
