Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

A few days ago we were visited by the department of family services from mass, and informed that we were under investigation for child neglect.that was cleared up without any problems whatsoever.our question is. that it was the nurse at our childrens school and she pretty much did it anonamusly whitout ever talking to any other school adminastration our priciple .the thing is someone could have called us with the concerns..and even when the nurse found out what happen she should have still consulted her bosses as to what she thought was wrong and asked before the d.c.f. came to my home and upset my children so much.she also pulled my child from class to ask her questions.and came in her class and whisperd questions in her ear ...i think she is way out off line and i would like more to be done .if you go thru the propper channels thats fine.but this was an attack on my family.cause when she did not get the respnose the first time she called d.c.f. she called and told them that they have alot of days out sick.what would she have said next i wonder? please help me know if we have any legal recourse or actions we can take

welcome to the dark side.

There are mandated reporters that if they have some reasonable grounds must report to DCF. DCF depending on the contents of the report will send an investigator to assess the situation. It is unfortunately common for the reporter and/or DCF to not seek to corroborate or even inform the parent. The reporter's excuse is to maintain anonymity.
