Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts
what kind of crime is this?
a few years ago a few ex friends of mine lied to get money from me, instead of using it for what they told me it was for they used to buy alcohol and possibly drugs...is this considered fraud? how long do i have to report this?

Based on what little information you've porvided, this sounds to me like it's probably more of a civil matter than a criminal one. Depending on the circumstances, you may have options in that regard, but I'm not sure how worthwhile it would be to pursue them unless there is a substantial amount of money involved and there is some reasonable prospect that these individuals have the ability to repay you any of it.
