small claims

i am being sued for approx five thousand dollars, i have very little money at all even though i am a small business owner my son caused property damage while using my car without permission the owner had it fixed but didn't pay the contractor who is now suing me for the money

If you have no contract with the unpaid contractor, and he is the one who has sued you directly, you have a legitimate defense. The contractor is not in "privity of contract" with you, and probably cannot sue you in contract.
