Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

Vehicle Sale Without Proof Of Ownership

We purchased a motorcycle from a person for $1000 and received a Bill of Sale but did not recieve the title or proof of ownership required to register the vehicle at the time of sale(it was a personal acquantance). The seller stated that they would provide it but has yet to do so and is now not returning our calls, it has been almost a year. Do we have any legal recourse or is there a way to register the motorcycle without this information in Massachusetts?

Consult an attorney to determine whether a consumer protection action could be brought to requires seller's to produce the title or obtain a duplicate title.
