Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

Can a Wife testify

I have a problem in my legal research class as to whether a female doctor who's husband took her perscription pad and wrote perscriptions for himself and when she found out and confronted him he threatened her he would tell people it was her writing the illegal perscriptions for herself and get her disbarred . Can she testify as to conversation between them? By the time the case will go to trial they will be divorced.

Re: Can a Wife testify

For purposes of class, first, is she a doctor or a lawyer? (disbarred) What is there that would make her writing of the prescriptions illegal?

In any event if she was my client I would strongly contest his ability to testify against her, because they were married when the communication was made.
