Re: How soon to start process?

First, you must understand that every case is different, we can only estimate processing times based on other petitioner's experiences with the consulate in Kingston and we can not make any representations on exactly how long will the process take. A lot of petitioners complain that the consulate takes a very long time to process and you will have to allow time for unanticipated delays, if any. My suggestion would be to file it at least 6 months or more before your intended wedding date. If you do not want to run the risk of not being able to obtain the visa before June 2006, you should then start the process as soon as you can. Once your fiancee receives the visa and comes to the U.S.A. you must marry within 90 days.

Good Luck!

The processing times vary for each case depending on the volume of cases filed and other factors. Generally, it takes 3-4 months for a K visa to be approved at the service center.
