30 day suspension

i was given a 30 day suspension (i was working 40+ hours a week). my suspension is up june 25, 2002. my boss informed me that i will be working one day for roughly 7 hours. is this legal?

First, unless you are in a union, you can be fired for any reason or no reason at all in MA.

In your case, if employer told you you would return to full time work and you can prove it, you may have an action for misrepresedntation. However, even if you win, you'll probably be fired.

If fact, if he reduces you work hours to 1 day from 5 days, you have effectively been fired and can claim unemployment benefits. See if you can get him to write why your hours reduced or simply that your hous have been reduced from 40-8 hours.
