Generally 3 years however some cases are shorter and some are longer. For instance, ski areas are one year, with a notice provision that if blown you cannot sue. Same with some public entities, like MBTA, municipalities and authorities, short statutes and/or notice provisions. There are notice provisions for some slip and fall claims before suit can be filed. Lot of exceptions and special rules. You probably would want to buy some time from a knowledgeable lawyer before relying on the statute of limitation for your case to be any particular period. Best luck. JBS

Generally you have three (3) years but, as the previous attorney mentioned, the exact time limit that applies to your case depends on when you sustained your injuries, when you realized that you sustained your injuries, and who is or may be responsible for your injuries.
