Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

For the purposes of suing Massport on an indoor slip and fall, no snow and ice notice or public way involved, it was indoors at Logan, does Massport fall under Ch. 258? Or is there another time standard in use for them?

Thanks

It would appear that M.G.L. Chapter 258 is the place to start. Without knowing the facts of this matter. I can offer no more.

If "time standard" is your concern, you may wish to speak with your attorney without delay.

No, Massport is not a government entity that falls under Chapter 258, the "Massachusetts Tort Claims Act." There are no special notice requirements, and the Statute of Limitations deadline for filing a lawsuit in court is 3 years from the date of the accident, same as most other cases (e.g., car crashes, slip & fall claims agaisnt private parties, etc.).

That being said, slip & fall cases are never particularly easy to pursue. Property owners have lots of potential defenses. Unless your injuries were very minor, it is probably a mistake to try to handle your claim without an attorney.
