Are city home inspectors immune from litigation from negligence?

City inspectors have qualifed immunity. They are not generally liabile,for their actions including merer negligence, however they may be personally immune from gross negligence or reckless action.

Depending on what happened the Inspector or the City may have liability or both. However, if the mistake relates to a matter personal judgment, such as compliance with a city ordinance or the value of real estate, they would not have personal liability for such actions absent proof or personal animous or something equally rare.
