Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Can I sue my landlord for illegal entry?

We have been constantly harassed by our landlord, this is his first property and he is quite overprotective. He claims he can come into our house whenever he want to and does. Myseriously he NEVER asks to come in while we are home. He has interfered with my work and my wife's sanity. I have had to leave work and console my wife because of his insulting and degrading remarks and actions. He claims it to be necessary to enter our house to close windows. We live on the third floor in the city and it is opressively hot, he won't allow us to reasonably open our windows when we need to. He will not call when we are home but always enters RIGHT after we leave (usually Sunday morning when we leave for church). Please help!!

Re: Can I sue my landlord for illegal entry?

You can get a restraining order from housing or district court to prevent such illegal entry. This restraining order is different from the domestic abuse restraining order and will require a civil lawsuit.
