Legal Question in Traffic Law in Massachusetts

I have a NYS valid comercial drivers license. I went to dmv to renew was denied do to a hold from massachusetts. I have an infraction from 1989 that i never took care of.I called the courts in Mass and was informed that there is a warrant for my arrest for failing to apear in court in 1989.

It's going to be necessary to find out the court, docket number and charge. If you can't get that from the NY authorities, it can be obtained with some effort from the MA registry.

You (or any attorney on your behalf) will need to go to that court and go before the judge to have the warrant removed. Unless it's a very serious charge it will probably be possible to get it dismissed, possibly with the payment of some court costs. Hope thIs helps.

Retain an attorney in Massachusetts, preferrably one near the Court that issued the default warrant for your arrest for failing to appear, to attempt to have the arrest warrant recalled and settle the charge on your behalf or arrange for you to appear before the court as you and your attorney and the court deem most appropriate.
