Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

Inheritance

I want to sell my deceased mother's car in Massachusetts, where I am a legal resident.

1. Her estate has cleared probate in Maine successfully.

2. My sister is the Executor/Administrator of the estate and wants me to sell the car.

3. We have a proper duplicate title from Maine for the car which is still legally registered in Maine.

How do I go about properly selling/transferring the title to a buyer?

Thank you,

Re: Inheritance

It seems to me that your sister would have to sell the car as she is the personal representative of the estate. Even if you sell it here, she is the only one with the authority to act for the estate. She would have to sign the bill of sale when the time comes to actually transfer the title of the car.
