Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

Life Estate

I placed my house in--name removed--life estate for myself and spouse with the house in the names of my children.

Is it possible to change any part of this? I would like to take one of children off the deed. Is it too late?

If I can't do that then can I take the house back in its entirety and put it entirely back into my and my spouse's names only?

Thank you for your help in this matter.

Re: Life Estate

Your kids now own a remainder interest in the house. You can deed your life estate, but you can not deed the remainder interest, only they can do that. If you want to undue what you did, you need the kids to sign. Sorry, that is what a deed is.

(I assume in this answer that you signed and duly recorded a valid deed. Check with an attorney for details.)
