Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

I have 2 dui's in Mich. and I am tring to get my licence in In. but am having trouble getting it . The dui's occured in 1994 and where 6 months apart, but it was so longago why do they still want me to go to Mich. to appere before the courts.
