Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan

I am interested in buying a vehicle that I know went into bankruptcy. during and after the bankruptcy the bank never tried to get the vehicle. the title still shows the bank in first position. how long after the discharge can the item be deemed a write of by the bank and I can get a clear title?

It depends on what happened in the bankruptcy case. If the debtor reaffirmed the vehicle, the debtors keeps the vehicle under a new contract with the bank. Otherwise, if the bankruptcy case is discharged or dismissed, the bank may repossess the vehicle and sell it at auction.
