Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan

If I am married can I file bankruptcy only on the debt that is my name, and leave my spouse out of it?

You can file for bankruptcy as an individual, without naming your spouse. However, in order to determine if you qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, they will consider your spouse's income as well.
