Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan

Employment and Contract

I am a Realtor and partnered with another Realtor out of the same office, I decided to leave and go to another Realty Company, and I am now being told that she will hold me to a contract with no start or end dates. She says it is for life. Do I have a leg to stand on?

Re: Employment and Contract

A contract for what? Non compete? This sounds ridiculous. I would be happy to help you in this matter. I have been doing contract and employment law for over 12 years and this sounds like sour grapes and idle threats to me, but I would need to see all documentation you have with her. Re: Employment and Contract

The contract needs to be reasonable to be enforceable. No one can force you to work for them for life. I do not know the content of the contract you ask about so cannot comment further as I am not sure exactly what else you are asking.
