Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

A person is using my identity and have a some felonies under my name and now when a job does a background check it shows up that i have felonies when i really does. I tried to clear my name with the Detroit Police dept but i had no success. They told me to get finger printed and walk around with a police clearance. I asked them how can i get these felonies sponged off my record and they really don't know. I have went to the Detroit Police dept 3 different times, Lansing Police Headquarters, and the Dept of Correction and no one can help me. Is this a lawsuit or is there anything i can do?

If the subject used your name as an alias once the subject's true identity was established that should have been corrected. If you are getting the run around you will need to retain counsel and that may entail securing a court order to compel the state to make the correction. Feel free to contact my office to discuss.
