Contract needs Notary?

I want to create/purchase a contract to barter a service (drywall) for a hot tub. Will this contract need to be notarized to be legally binding? I live in Michigan.

No, it does not. However, it never hurts to have at least 1 witness to the contract, along with a notary, in the event the parties have a dispute later, such as if the person signs the contract, and later disputes that it is not his/her signature.
