Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan

Warranty not honored

We have been trying to get our floor replaced under warranty by the company that installed it for 2 years. They kept putting us off and saying they were working on figuring out why it has cracks all over. They never disputed that it was covered under warranty. Now we call and the number is disconnected. They own 2 businesses out of the same office and the other one is still in business. Do we have any recourse to get our floor replaced or our money refunded?

Re: Warranty not honored

You should file a lawsuit against them for breach of contract and breach of warranty. You could also try having an attorney contact them in writing to see if they will fix your floor rather than being subject to a costly lawsuit.

Re: Warranty not honored

You need to put all correspondence IN WRITING so you have documentation regarding your complaints, etc. If they do not agree to replace or fix your floors pursuant to the warranty, then you'd have to file a lawsuit to enforce the terms of a warranty.
