Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

Can a creditor who has a judgment against me find out that I have a safe deposit box at a particular bank that I have no other accounts at, or attachments to? Do I need to close out this safe deposit box right now, before the court gives final approval to start seizing assets?

Also, can a creditor seize bank accounts and/or safe deposit boxes, and/or vehicles that are in my name AND my adult son's name? Or, can they only seize accounts, safe deposit boxes, vehicles that are in my name only?

A creditors exam would reveal these things, as they are assets. If you attempt to hide or add additional owners to defeat their collectibility, a good creditors attorney will discover this and set it aside as a fraudulent transfer. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss further. Tim Klisz
