Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

Following graduating college I was diagnosed with cancer. I had just started a job, and being young my wage wasn't high but my insurance was great. I received outstanding treatment via the University of Michigan. The treatment lasted between March 2004 - November 2004. Needless to say once all was said and done I was in remission yet financially devastated, unable to work during that time ( on leave from work, insurance continued) now 6 years later and in great health and much more mature. There is significant amount of bills (co-pays) that went unpaid, all now listed with collection agencies on my credit report. I've consulted with a few different people who claim it will go away after 7 years. but when does that clock start? I have ranging the entire 8 months. Does it start when all activity with the acct. stops? Any suggestions are welcome.

It is 6 years from service or the last payment, whichever is later. If no payments, the six years may have passed or will in november. Contact me at kliszlaw.com to discuss further. Tim Klisz
