Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

medical bill

I owe about $2,000. on a medical bill from 6 months ago. Since I incurred the debt, I have paid at least $50 every month. These people are calling me at work now asking for full payment or else....what are my rights here?

Re: medical bill

To prevent continued collection activity and calls at work, you should:

1. Enter into a payment arrangement with the creditor that you both agree to; and

2. Send the creditor or collection company a letter by certified mail telling them not to call you at work any more (verbal requests are not enforceable).

Good luck.
