Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

Overpayment of wages

I was ''let go'' from my company and received a severance package. In addition, I continued to receive paychecks for three pay periods after my termination. The company is now asking for repayment-almost a year later. Do I have to pay the money back?

Re: Overpayment of wages

This depends on what your severance agreement states. If you received more than you were entitled to you may have to return it. It also depends on what the statute of limitations in the state is for brining an action against you. If the period expired then the company cannot pursue the action against you.
