Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

I owe the irs $1,3oo.and I am in default with them because I made payment arrangements with them.but i received a court order to appear in court to pay another bill.,so I had no choice but to do that.I am working part time,my boyfriend layed off a year,and I couldnt pay on both.I thought Id pay one off first,then the irs..I didnt call them.now im in trouble.they dent me a default letter,to pay in full.I dont have the money.i just got done paying off the other,so now i can pay on this. what can I do .I dont want to go to jail,and I cant pay in full.Ive never been in trouble before.can you help me,please. tina frederick

There is no such thing as debtor's prison in the USA, so you can't go to jail for not paying a bill. Try making alternate payment arrangements. http://www.wolverinelaw.com
