Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

I have been accused of something I did not do. A detective asked me to take a polygraph test. Is it better for an innocent person to take a polygraph with a lawyer present, or refuse?

Always refuse! Police polygraph tests are designed to get suspects to confess, not to get to the truth. Do not speak to the police, agreed to speak to the police, or agree to take a polygraph without first consulting with a lawyer. Your lawyer can arrange a private polygraph first to see how you do.
